The Countdown to Expo 2020 Dubai begins Today


By this time next year, we will be able to witness the epic event in which the UAE will amaze the world, we are talking about Expo 2020 Dubai that will start on October 1, 2021.

To date, you can already see new photos released on Wednesday showing the advanced state of readiness at the exhibition site near Al Maktoum International Airport in South Dubai.

In May of this year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) had approved the postponement of a year of this event, keeping the name of “Expo 2020 Dubai” as requested by the participating countries, in the hope of overcoming this difficult moment.

The Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau Reem Al Hashimy said that new details and ideas on space, health and well-being, travel and connectivity and other topics “that sit at the heart of this Expo” will be shared in the coming weeks.

“Our leadership has spared no effort, guided us, and provided all resources to ensure that our World Expo will be a true expression of the UAE’s values.”

“Our World Expo has a mission to inspire hope. We hope that people will join us to achieve our objectives to bring the world together and put humanity and the planet on the right path towards dignity for all.

“As we mark a year to go until we open, I want to thank all those who work so hard and so passionately to deliver an exceptional Expo. The journey has been worth it, and in 365 days we will share our excitement and our passion with millions.”

Work in 2020 has focused on the landscape with the construction of country pavilions to be completed by the end of the year, to date, more than 210 million working hours have been done.

From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 we will see the first World Exhibition in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) that will bring together more than 190 countries and that will be able to create new connections, explore new ideas and collectively deal with some of the biggest global challenges.
