The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Dubai congratulates Paolo Petrocelli on his new appointment as Director of the Dubai Opera!
Paolo Petrocelli will become the director of the Dubai Opera House in the United Arab Emirates.
Petrocelli will leave his position as General Director of the Stauffer Center for Strings. Petrocelli was selected by Friends of Europe back in 2014 as one of the 40 most influential young personalities in Europe and was named European Young Leader. He received a similar honour from Fortune magazine in Italy. He is also the founder of EMMA for Peace and was Assistant to the Superintendent for International Development and External Relations at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and Advisor for International Development and Special Projects at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman.
Petrocelli has made a decisive contribution to the relaunch of the Stauffer Foundation’s cultural plan, overseeing the opening of the new Stauffer Palace and working on the creation of the international development project of the Stauffer Centre for Strings, the first international music centre entirely dedicated to string instruments. Under his direction, the Stauffer Academy has been able toexpand its teaching staff with the addition of over 40 internationally renowned artists, and initiated a series of important cultural collaborations with some of the world’s most respected academic and musical institutions, such as the Juilliard School in New York, the School of Music at Yale University, and the Royal College of Music in London.
In an official press release, Petrocelli stated: ‘I am particularly grateful to the President and the Board of Directors of the Stauffer Foundation and to all the faculty members of the Stauffer Academy for the trust and support they have never let me lack over the years. I thank them all for believing in an ambitious idea of growth and change and for supporting a new artistic vision, based on the principles of excellence, innovation and global connection.”
“I am fully aware that I had an extraordinary opportunity: to be able to contribute to the growth of one of the most prestigious and iconic Italian music institutions in the world. My sincere thanks go to my team of collaborators who, with commitment and passion, have helped me achieve very ambitious goals,” he continued. “Thanks to all the students of the Academy, whose enthusiasm and talent have been a continuous source of inspiration for me. Finally, thank you to the citizens of Cremona, who have welcomed me with sincere friendship and cordiality since my arrival in the city. This experience has left a deep mark, both on a personal and professional level. I now look forward with great enthusiasm and motivation to my next professional chapter, leading such an iconic arts organization in Dubai. Goodbye, Cremona!”.
