Hub for Business – The Lazio Region at Expo Dubai

On the 15^th September 2021, at the headquarters of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, the presentation of the “Hub for Business – The Lazio Region at Expo Dubai” was held, a support tool for the Lazio companies’ business that want to take advantage of the opportunities offered them by Expo Dubai. The hub will have a physical location at the Italian Chamber of commerce, but it will also be available online on the website expo2020.lazioinnova.it.

At the inauguration event participated the Manager Director for the activities of Expo2020Dubai of the Lazio Region Quirino Briganti, the General Consul Giuseppe Finocchiaro, the Plenipotentiary Ministry and Deputy Commissioner of the section for participation in Expo 2020, Marcello Fondi, the Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, Stefano Campagna, the President of Lazio Innova, Nicola Tasco and the Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, Mauro Marzocchi.

Expo 2020 represents, to the Lazio region, the opportunity to rise again after a pandemic that brought down the population of Italy’s second-most populated region. The region has decided to take part in Expo and will be present in the Italy Pavilion with its own claim: “Culture is Innovation, Sustainability and Wellness – Lazio eternal discovery” and with a series of activities aimed at involving local companies that want to take the opportunity to expand their business in the Middle East. The Lazio region will be available in this regard also online through Connections, an app developed and promoted by Expo2020 Dubai that is aimed to enhance the activities held at EXPO and the communication between the 192 countries that will be part of the Exhibition.

At the moment, more than 50 companies have joined the hub. Briganti during the inauguration ceremony stated “the Lazio in Dubai is an extraordinary challenge. For a peaceful future, we hope”.

The Lazio Region has also chosen companies from the agro-industry sector for their participation in the project “Italian Food in the Gulf” and the Specialty food fair, that will be held at DWTC from 7^th to 9^th November 2021. The activity is promoted by the Economic-development, Commerce and Craftsmanship, University, Research, Start-up and Innovation department and by the Agriculture, Forests, supply chain Promotion and Food’s Culture, Equal Lazio Region’s Opportunities department in collaboration with ARSIAL, Regional Agency for the Lazio agriculture’s development and innovation and with Agro Camera.
