Structural Checks, a Legal Obligation

According to the provisions of Legislative Decree 9 April 2008, n. 81 and subsequent amendments, the work equipment that must undergo periodic inspections is defined by the ministerial decree of 11 April 2011.

  • Aerial ladders with variable inclination
  • Mobile scaffolds on motorized trolleys
  • Mobile scaffolds on trolleys with vertical development and manually operated
  • Self-raising work platforms on columns
  • Construction elevators and hoists with vertically guided cabin/platform
  • Suspended scaffolds and related winches

The equipment listed above, if constructed more than 20 years ago, is subject to structural inspection. The machine owner can contact us for further information and schedule an appointment for the inspection, which lasts about an hour. At the end of this inspection, the expert engineer will produce a report on the remaining lifespan of the machine. Once this date is reached, the machine can undergo further structural inspection for a lifespan extension. The inspections will focus not only on the metallic profiles but particularly on the welds, which are the most stressed points. For this reason, the technician performing the structural checks will use specific equipment and products for the inspection of the lifting equipment.
