First dose of Covid-19 vaccine for the United Arab Emirates


The Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) has started administering the first Covid-19 vaccines approved in the UAE to the medical and nursing staff of the Al Qassimi hospital in Sharjah, other than some officials and the minister, in order to protect firstly the healthcare of the professionals on the front line.

The minister said: ” This step clearly underlines the interest and support of the wise leadership for all workers in the health sector and its commitment to providing them with the highest levels of safety.”

The vaccine, now in the final stages of the process in four countries including the UAE, resulted clinically safe and effective. In any case, vaccinated patients will be monitored in order to deal with any negative effects that may arise.
