Founded in Italy in 1899, Fiat can count on over 100 years of experience in the design and production of small cars, many of which have become icons for entire generations and have accompanied the most important social and economic changes in the country.

With over 1.3 million cars sold every year worldwide, the brand focuses mainly on the segment of medium, small and mini cars, creating functional, easy to drive, accessible and fuel-efficient cars, while distinguishing itself for style and innovative solutions. One of the most popular models is the Fiat 500. Launched for the first time in 1957 and re-launched in 2007, the 500 is a worldwide success, sold in over one hundred countries.

For motorists around the world, it has become a cultural phenomenon and a global icon of Italian style, creativity and technology. The main markets are Europe and Latin America, but Fiat is also expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, both directly and through joint ventures. Furthermore, in 2011, after more than 20 years of absence, Fiat also returned to the North American market with the launch of the Fiat 500.

Among its many firsts, Fiat has been the market leader in Brazil in the pickup segment for seventeen years now. It is also the undisputed leader of segment A in Europe, with 500 and Pandas together holding a share that is close to thirty percent.

Updated in July 2015 in the bumpers and lights (such as the closed version), the Fiat 500C is more than a convertible: it has a canvas top, but retains the arches of the steel side uprights. To “discover” it, just press a button and wait ten seconds; in addition, up to a speed of 60 km / h it is also possible to recline the rear window (which is made of glass and equipped with an electric defrosting system). Definitely more expensive than the closed version (the increase is around 3,500 euros), the 500C resumes the setting of the cockpit, well finished and approved for four, even if really comfortable only for the occupants of the two front seats. It should be noted that the different shape of the tail made the rear hatch “disappear”, replaced by a small (and much less practical) door. The engines provided for the Fiat 500C (excluding the bi-fuel version) are similar to those of the “normal” 500: the 69 HP 1.2 and the 85 HP 0.9 TwinAir turbo. Even for the 500 convertible, Fiat offers a very wide possibility of aesthetic customization drawing on a rich specific catalog.

FIAT 500

The Fiat 500 has a unique and timeless appearance, which the July 2015 update (new bumpers, slightly modified headlights) made even more sophisticated. The retro interior with fanciful coverings is suitable for four people, even if those who sit behind do not have much air above their heads. The capacity of the trunk is acceptable. Also in July 2015, a modern multimedia system with a 5 “screen was introduced in the center of the dashboard: it can be integrated with a digital radio, navigator and dedicated” apps “, but it does not have a CD player. The car is intuitive when driving, lightly fatiguing (gearbox and steering are light and precise to operate) and, with the TwinAir 85 HP twin cylinder, also lively. The 1.2 petrol (69 HP) is a bit weak, but it is also offered on LPG.

Compact crossover with rounded and original lines, thanks to the not exaggerated dimensions (the length is under 430 cm), the Fiat 500X is also well suited for city use. The interior is pleasant, in general well finished although some plastic (for example those of the door panels) is not missing up to the price of the car. The driving position, although raised, is that of a sedan, and the habitability is generous (but the trunk is small); those traveling behind can count on a large sofa that is not uncomfortable even for three people. The City button, present on other Fiat cars, is missing, which makes the steering wheel much lighter: you miss it. The less expensive Urban cars have more “automotive” bumpers and less safety systems; the Crosses have a more “off-road” aspect and a more complete equipment. Agile on asphalt and rather comfortable (only with 18 ” rims the absorption is not always optimal), the 500X is offered with 1.6 petrol engines (110 HP), 1.0 turbo (120 HP) and 1.3 turbo (150 HP ), or diesel 1.3 (95 HP), 1.6 (120 HP) and 2.0 (150 HP). You can also have the robotic dual-clutch gearbox (for the 1.3 petrol with 150 HP and the 1.6 diesel) and 4×4 traction (with the most powerful diesel engine, combined with the nine-speed automatic transmission).

The Fiat designers tried to refer to the Jolly Spiaggina, but for technical and cost reasons they could not shorten the roof pillars and remove the doors. Consequently they focused on the details: the Spiaggina ’58 in fact provides the “nostalgic” Volare Blue paint, the beige soft top, 16 “circles with a vintage style and a white profile on the side, in addition to the chrome shells of the rear-view mirrors, the vintage logos Fiat and the Spiaggina ’58 chrome logo on the rear. The dashboard resumes the blue color of the bodywork, while the seats have a gray seat and an ivory-colored upper bezel. The Fiat logo on the steering wheel also recalls the vintage one. The nostalgic look of the Fiat 500 Spiaggina ’58 contrasts with the interior, where there is the modern 7 “touch screen of the Uconncet 7” HD Live multimedia system, which integrates the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features. Also included in the price are the automatic “climate” and the rear proximity sensors. The only engine expected is 69 bhp 1.2 petrol, updated by Fiat to meet the Euro 6d-Temp anti-pollution regulations.

Exterior Available exclusively in Sera Blu – with black painted roof for the hatchback version or blue fabric roof for the convertible version – it is fully equipped with the highest quality materials, to give you an extra touch of class. The chromed details on the hood, the 16 “alloy wheels with a specific diamond blue finish and the chromed Riva badges on the tailgate and on the front wings will reflect the sun as if you were navigating on the water. Interior The interiors of the Fiat 500 Riva were made with care with the highest quality materials: the ivory-colored Frau leather seats with blue and hand-painted mahogany wood blend in a symphony of splendor.
