Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A. is an Italian luxury car manufacturer, founded by the French Alexandre Darracq as A.L.F.A. (“[Società] Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili”, “Anonimo Lombard car factory”) on June 24, 1910, in Milan. The brand is known for sports vehicles and has been involved in motor racing since 1911. The company was owned by the Italian state holding company Institute for Industrial Reconstruction between 1932 and 1986, when it joined the Fiat Group. In February 2007, the Alfa Romeo brand became Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A., a subsidiary of Fiat Group Automobiles, now Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Italia.

The company that became Alfa Romeo was founded as an Italian Anonymous Company Darracq (SAID) in 1906 by the French automaker Alexandre Darracq, with Italian investors. At the end of 1909, Italian Darracq cars were selling slowly and the company’s Italian partners hired Giuseppe Merosi to design new cars. On June 24, 1910 a new company named A.L.F.A. was founded, initially still in partnership with Darracq. The first non-Darracq car produced by the company was the 24 HP of 1910, designed by Merosi. ALPHA. he ventured into motor racing, with the Franchini and Ronzoni drivers competing in the 1911 Targa Florio with two 24 HP models. In August 1915 the company passed under the direction of the Neapolitan entrepreneur Nicola Romeo, who converted the factory to produce military hardware for the Italian and allied war efforts. In 1920, the company name was changed to Alfa Romeo with the Torpedo 20-30 HP the first car to be so marked.

In 1921, the Italian Discount Bank, which supported Eng. Nicola Romeo & Co broke down and the government had to support the industrial companies involved, including Alfa Romeo, through the “Consortium for Subsidies on Industrial Values”. In 1925, the railway activities were separated from the Romeo company and, in 1928, Nicola Romeo left. In 1933, state ownership was reorganized under the banner of the Institute for Industrial Reconstruction (IRI) by the government of Benito Mussolini, who then had effective control. The company struggled to return to profitability after the Second World War, and turned to mass production of small vehicles rather than manual construction of luxury models.

In 1954, he developed the Alfa Romeo Twin Cam engine, which remained in production until 1994. During the 60s and 70s, Alfa Romeo produced a series of sports cars, but fought to make a profit, therefore the Institute for Reconstruction (IRI), the state conglomerate that controls Finmeccanica sold the brand to the Fiat Group in 1986. Alfa Romeo has successfully competed in Grand Prix car racing, Formula 1, car racing, car racing and rallies. He competed both as a manufacturer and as an engine supplier, through job registrations (usually under the name of Alfa Corse or Autodelta) and private registrations. The first racing car was built in 1913, three years after the company was founded, and Alfa Romeo won the inaugural world championship for Grand Prix cars in 1925. The race victories gave the brand a sporty image and Enzo Ferrari founded the Scuderia Ferrari racing team in 1929 as an Alfa Romeo racing team, before becoming independent in 1939. He had the most wins of any brand in the world.

Iconic Alfa Romeo design has given shape to an unprecedented SUV, distinguished by unique and essential traits from the brand’s legacy, capturing a stylistic consistency with the New Giulia. Premium and heritage-inspired, the design approach is both outstanding and purposeful in equal measure. Everything is sculpted on mechanics, like a suit tailored to an athlete’s body. Every detail is conceived to enhance aerodynamics and underscore the performance of Stelvio, without drama. At Alfa Romeo, we call it “The Meaningful Beauty.”

Since its foundation, Alfa Romeo has taken a unique and original approach to creating cars, striving for a point of convergence between style and passion. Blending iconic Italian design, cutting-edge technology and a bold dynamic spirit to continually inspire authentic emotions. Now there is a new chapter in the Brand’s history. The driver and his emotions are at the center of the universe, innovation leads to new sensations and outstanding safety: in addition to the 5-star Euro NCAP rating, Giulia has earned the extraordinary score of 98% for adult occupant protection.

On sale since 2010, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta is an average five-door sports car with a personal and still current appearance; in 2016 there was a slight update, and the front became more similar to that of the Giulia. In addition, the Veloce package was introduced with details (such as the red profile in the front bumper) that accentuate the sportiness of the car. The engines, all turbocharged, are modern and brilliant in response, and in addition to the manual gearbox you can have (choosing the diesel) the comfortable robotic dual clutch TCT. The passenger compartment is quite spacious, as well as, taking into account the type of car, the capacity of the trunk. In driving, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta is safe, and thanks to the direct steering and well-tuned suspension, it also knows how to entertain. Where the car points out more its relative seniority is in the equipment: the most recent electronic driving aids are missing, such as automatic emergency braking.
