From May 23rd the UAE stands on the podium in the first position as far as Covid-19 vaccination rates are concerned, with a total of 12.1 million vaccine doses administered so far.
The vaccination rate has jumped to 122.39 per 100 people on Sunday, making the UAE edging past Israel in the global rankings.
The next target for the Emirati authorities seems to be the 100 percent vaccination of all the eligible groups by the end of the year. The goal does not seem too far from being achieved. As today in fact, 80 percent of the elderly population and nearly 74 percent of eligible groups already got their shots.
Vaccines are available for free for the resident population in many centers all across the country and even the youngest are getting their vaccine doses, being 12 the minimum age to get a Pfizer-BioNTech jab.
