The UAE has recorded its highest number of Covid-19 recoveries in a day, pinning the country’s recovery rate at 89%, one of the highest in the world. A significant increase in the number of recoveries is a positive sign for the country when the global cases have soared to over 27 million, with over 884,000 deaths and over 19 million recoveries as of September 6.
The US, Brazil, India and Mexico have been among the countries with the highest number of daily cases. Nearly 90 per cent of Covid-19 patients recover in the UAE, which is higher than the global average recovery rate of 58.17 per cent.
The country also has one of the highest rates of per million Covid tests in the world. More than 7.5 million Covid tests have been carried out in the country so far. The country’s Covid-19 mortality rate of 0.6 per cent is considerably lower than the global average of 3.7 per cent, the ministry said.
The country is also in the third phase of its vaccine trials. The health minister said the results are very “reassuring, and no side-effects were recorded on the volunteers”.
