NEW SHARJAH PARTNERSHIP SIGNED TO PROMOTE WASTE RECYCLING
A MoU has been signed by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Middle East’s sustainability pioneer, Bee’ah. The MoU aims to enhance the capabilities of both sides to implement the best environmental practices, including eco-friendly waste recycling and disposal methods. Bee’ah will provide waste containers in different parts of SCCI premises to encourage environment-friendly practices and promote the culture of recycling. The partnership comes as part of the concerned efforts to enhance cooperation and exchange knowledge and experiences in terms of environmental activities and social responsibility initiatives.

CAPITAL TO SHOWCASE INFRASTRUCTURE AT WORLD ROAD CONGRESS ABU DHABI
Abu Dhabi is set to present its world-class infrastructure and technology achievements in the transport sector to global experts, as part of a series of technical visits during the upcoming World Road Congress Abu Dhabi. taking place from October 7 to 10, the visits will include landmarked locations such as Abu Dhabi’s Traffic Management Centre, the Khalifa Industrial Zone as well as Yas Marina Circuit. The visits will highlight Abu Dhabi’s state-of-the-art road infrastructure, for which the city ranked in the 2017-18 Global Competitiveness Report for the best roads around the world.

INVESTORS MORE BULLISH ON UAE’S ECONOMY
Businessmen and investors in the UAE are more optimistic about the state of the Country’s economy than their counterparts across the globe about their respective domestic economies. In the UAE, 84% of high net worth individuals and business owners take an optimistic stance on the state of their economy, almost unchanged compared to last quarter’s result. A recent report by EY said that UAE recorded the highest inbound investment In the Mena Region: the oil & gas sector was the top target sector for inbound activity, accounting for $10.8 billion.

UPCOMING ICONIC SKYSCRAPERS TO ADD MORE GLAMOUR TO UAE SKYLINE
The UAE, especially Dubai, is home to some the world’s most visited landmarks, attracting millions of visitors from different corners of the world. The UAE is working on a number of new landmarked and skyscrapers set to open in couple of years. It has been estimated that $18.85 bln of landmark projects are currently underway across the UAE, with Dubai’s taking the lion’s share. The UAE is already home to world-famous landmarks such: Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, Palm Atlantis, Louvre Abu Dhabi. The Dubai Mall. Cayan Tower and Dubai Frame; an iconic tower similar to Apple iPod’s design has also come up in Dubai.

ALMOST 4000 LICENSES ISSUED FOR TOP 10 ECONOMIC SECTORS IN UAE
The number of licenses issued for the top 10 economic activities in the UAE totaled 3.976 from the start of the year to the end of July. Public trade continued to be the most active economic sector in the UAE. The number of licenses issued in July for the general trading sector reached 638, with an increase of 12.5% with respect to June, while the number of licenses for the construction and building sector increased to 634, a growth of 13.2%. Other important results are connecting with cold and hot drinks sectors (443 licenses, a growth of 27%); light transport sector (42% increase with 328 licenses) and women’s clothing sector which increased to 277 with a growth of 12.6%.

$859B ENERGY PROJECTS IN MENA AS DEMAND RISES
Oil, gas and petrochemical projects, valued at more than $859 bln are ether underway or planned in the Middle East and North Africa, of which $283 bln are projects being implemented, as the Region gest ready to meet the forecast increases in demand for energy over the next two decades. Breakthrough technologies, the growing global population and rising consumer spending are all combing to cerate new demand for energy, much of which will continue to be met by the oil and gas industry up to and beyond 2040.

DUBAI: A CRUISE HOTSPOT
Bolstering its position as a premier international cruise destination, Dubai concluded its 2018-19 cruise season with a record increase of over 51% tourist footfall and a 38% increase in cruise ship calls season-on-season. Dubai welcomed through Mina Rashid Cruise Terminal 846.176 cruise visitors via 152 ship calls during the season. An additional 211 ship calls are now confirms for the upcoming 2019-20 season. This growth reflects the committed join efforts to boost the cruise sector by the Dubai Cruise Committee.

LUSH GREENERY, FOUNTAINS SET TO WELCOME EXPO VISITORS
With Expo construction work in full swing, Dubai’s Eco vision is coming to life: it is turning a 4.38 sq-km swath of desert land on oasis full of greenery and water. It’s going to be an artistic, nature scenery, which is being constructed in the most eco-friendly ways. Expo 2020 Dubai has adopted water consumption systems and has been reusing different water sources such as wastewater, air-conditioning water, groundwater discharge and seasonal surface water flows. The events’ location will feature large areas for open air celebrations, decorated by plants that rely on drip irrigation techniques; Expo 2020 allocated, in addition, an area of 220.000 sq meters to a nursery for plants and trees.

GARA APERTA PER LA COSTRUZIONE DEL PADIGLIONE ITALIA

ECCO LA PROCEDURA PER L’AFFIDAMENTO DEI LAVORI, SERVIZI E FORNITURE PER LA REALIZZAZIONE DEL PADIGLIONE ITALIA NEL SITO DI EXPO 2020 – DUBAI

Il lotto scelto per la realizzazione del Padiglione Italia ha una superficie totale di 3.420 mq e permette la realizzazione di un edificio con impronta a terra massima pari a 2.457 mq ed altezza massima di 27 metri, e una superficie lorda complessiva massima pari a 7.182 mq.

La procedura di gara – con una base d’asta di 14 milioni 450 mila euro e un valore massimo di 26 milioni- è indetta da Invitalia quale Centrale di Committenza per conto del Commissario Generale di Sezione per la partecipazione italiana ad EXPO 2020 Dubai.

Il Commissariato agisce, nella presente procedura, quale Stazione Appaltante.

La posizione del Padiglione italiano risulta essere particolarmente attrattiva, poiché in prossimità del Padiglione degli Emirati Arabi Uniti, ideato da Santiago Calatrava, sarà il luogo che coinvolgerà il maggior numero di visitatori, oltre ad essere il centro nevralgico dell’esposizione insieme alla Al Wasl Plaza, la piazza di connessione dei tre petali tematici, situata a circa 350 metri dal Padiglione Italia. Il Padiglione Italia, inoltre, sarà collocato in prossimità dei Padiglioni di Germania, India e Stati Uniti.
