EAU: QUALI OPPORTUNITA’ PER LE IMPRESE ITALIANE
Milan, 29th of May 2019
On the 29th of May it has been taking place the Seminar “UAE: Which opportunities for the Italian companies”, organized in collaboration with the IICUAE Representative 2019, Avv. Giorgia Ranzi. Works started with the introduction by the  coordinator, Avv. Marco Mannino. The first speech has been done by the Vice-President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, Silvano Martinotti, which has brought the institutional welcome to the 35 attending companies. Following this, the Country Presentation by the Secretary General, Mauro Marzocchi, followed in turn by the speeches of Saftar Alam on the principals of Islamic finance, of the IICUAE Representative Avv. Giorgia Ranzi which talked about the basis of the legal system of the UAE and, at the end, by the speech of Avv. Luciana Tullia Bertoli and Avv. Annamaria Ranieri on the basis concerning international taxation system. At the end of the Seminar there has been done on a depth debate with the attending entrepreneurs and in particular they have developed themes such customs, transportation, local distributors and local infrastructures,. At the end of the works, around 8PM, an amazing Aperitivo has been offered to the attenders.

OPPORTUNITIES AND WEAKNESSES OF THE ITALIAN SYSTEM IN GLOBAL MARKETS

UAE PROMOTES SUSTAINABLE FASHION

3D MAP OF DUBAI TO HELP CIVIL DEFENSE FIGHT FIRE ACCIDENTS
Civil defense authorities in Dubai will now have access to a comprehensive 3d map of Dubai, which will provide firefighters with necessary background information during operations. Through the up-to-date 3D profile of the Emirate – which has been done by the municipality’s Geo Dubai project – firefighters will be able to know information such as entry and exit points; how a site can be accessed; how high a building is and what safety and security protocols must be followed.

UAE IS THE 5TH COMPETITIVE ECONOMY
The UAE Government’s efforts to make the Country’s economy among the world’s most competitive economies is paying off as it achieved the first rating in 20 sub-indices and the second ranking in nine positions, according to IMD World Annual Competitiveness Report 2019. The UAE jumped from the seventh place to the fifth position in 2019, thanks to improvements in government and business efficiency indices as well as technological and scientific infrastructure. The UAE has recorded improvement in its competitiveness for the third consecutive year, rising from 15th place to 5th this year. Among the sub-factors, the UAE has been rated best and first in entrepreneurship, international experience, digital transformation of firms, redundancy costs, overall productivity, agility of companies, working hours, use of big data and analytics, relocation threat of business and resilience of economies.

NEW DOWNTOWN IS EMERGING
As Dubai works on building different downtown neighborhoods as part of its urban planning, a new center is emerging fast on the horizon of Dubai’s property market, attracting a large number of end-users and investors due to its economical proposition for tenants and better return for investors. Industry analysts said that areas around Expo 2020 and Al Maktoum Airport  such Dubai South, Meydan City, Mudon and Town square will be the best big downtown areas. As part of Expo 2020, RTA is expanding the Dubai Metro, which will connect the Expo 2020 areas with the rest of its Red and Green Lines network, making mobility even easier for the residents.

UAE STARTUPS HAIL LONG-TERM VISA
The UAE has been home to many start-ups and will continue to be the hub in the Middle East. The ecosystem received a major boost last week as government decided to issue 10-year-visas to investors, which has been widely hailed by industries, particularly by the star-up community. Statistics from entrepreneurship in the Arab world indicate that there are 10.000-plus start-ups, with over $2.1 bln in total funding and almost 16000 total deals. The UAE houses most startups in the Region; almost 35% of all start=ups in the Arab world have headquarters in the Nation.

Figc flights to Dubai together with “Italy for Expo 2020”. This is the task which the President, Gabriele Gravina, has assumed to do during the meeting with the Commissary General of Italy for Expo 2020 Dubai, Paolo Glisenti. EXPO WORK REACHES A KEY MILESTONE
The construction of the Dubai Expo 2020 site has reached a key milestone as three thematic districts have been completed. More than 100 mln working hours have gone into developing the site and all expo-led construction is on track to be completed by the end of this year. The three districts for the site’s largest built-up area, including 86 buildings that will house dozens of country pavilions, food and beverage outlets, retail and performance spaces and leisure areas.Each district will be anchored by its own thematic pavilion and connected to the central Al Wals Plaza, sent to be the next iconic structure of Dubai.
