The UAE will focus on manufacturing, transport, renewable energy, agriculture and water sector in the short term to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). Currently, real estate, healthcare and education sectors attract high level of foreign investment inflows. In line with UAE Vision 2071, we need to encourage FDI to more specific industries and advanced sciences like Artificial Intelligence. DXB traffic exceeds 7 mln in OctoberDXB TRAFFIC EXCEEDS 7 MLN IN OCTOBER

With 7 mln passengers recorded in October, Dubai International (DXB) started the final quarter of the year on a positive note and is poised to meet its target of hitting 90-mln passenger milestone in 2019. while there was a moderate growth in October of 2.1% year per year, with the hub’s year to date traffic reach 74.5 mln passengers, analysts predict the last two months would witness increased flow. In 2017, DXB was ranked the world’s third largest airport in terms of passengers traffic after Atlanta International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport.

The Dubai tourism industry maintained its steady growth in the first nine months of this year, driven by traditional source markets India, Saudi Arabia and the UK. According to the Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Russia, China and Germany witnessed strong double-digit growth as the number of visitors reached 11.58 mln compared to 11.57 mln in the same period last year. UAE passport world’s most powerfulUAE PASSPORT WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL

The UAE passport has been declared the most powerful in the world. Passport index an online interactive tool that collection displays and ranks the passports of the world, accorded the top slot to the UAE passport, which offers visa-free entry to 167 countries. With a visa-free score of 166, Singapore and Germany are tied at the second spot, while 11 countries, including the US, and several European countries, share the world’s third most powerful passport tag.

Tea, coffee to lead f&b growth

The tea and coffee segment would be a key driver of growth in the UAE’s food and beverage industry in the coming years. Dubai has always been a reputed hub for tea; more so when it comes to re-exports than consumption. There has been seen a shift towards green beans, which is indicative of the trend in the market right now. The roasting industry in the Region is also growing and demand for specialty coffee is also on the rise. Commercial coffee has set to pace for growth in the industry, but now consumers are interested in the more refined sensory experience of specialty coffee.

UAE PACKAGE TO BOOST WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENTUAE package to boost women’s development

A mandatory provision of healthcare to women before during and after giving birth is among a new package of national legislative policies and initiatives adopted by the UAE cabinet. They are base on three axes: Legislation and policy; services and international representation and includes resources to support the advancement of Emirati women as active partners in local, regional and global arenas. Sheikh Mohammed said: “Women constitute over half of society; they build the foundations of our renaissance whether in education, medicine or engineering. We must, therefore, enhance their dynamic role in both the UAE and global communities across multiple sectors.

Several new developments in the leisure and entertainment industry across Dubai have been instrumental in bringing Dubai one step closer to its tourism targets. PWC has forecast that the UAE’s leisure and entertainment market potential will reach 45 mln visitors by 2021, with international tourists accounting for 30 mln, while residents and their friends and relatives total a further 15 mln. As by estimates, Dubai’s theme parks could generate around $5 bln in annual revenue by 2020. UAE LEADS ARAB WORLD IN ECONOMIC FREEDOMUAE leads Arab world in economic freedom

UAE businesses enjoy the highest economic freedom in the Arab world. This opens a wealth of opportunities to grow for UAE. it also helps reduce poverty in the Country, generates pre-employment opportunities and makes workforce and credit easily available. According to the Fraser Institute’s Economic Freedom of the Arab World’s annual report 2018, the UAE tied with Bahrain for first place with a score of 8.0. Among the sub-indices, the UAE’s score for legal structure and security of property rights remained 8.0 and security of property rights remained 8.0 and retained its first place. The Country’s score for sound money rose to 9.5 from 9.4. The UAE came in first place in freedom to trade, up from second, with an improved score of 8.6 compared to 8.1 last year.
